Shetland sheep wool is a dual coated wool with light crimp and a soft hand. It usually measures around 23 microns. Like Icelandics, they have a tog (the longer, coarser outer fibers) and a thel (the softer undercoat). Dodger was our special needs sheep with some odd health issues from the time we brought him to our farm as a lamb. He came with us to a few shows, and often responded with affection to the shyest people. Unfortunately, we lost him in an early heat wave in 2021.

this fleece is from a 2020 shearing, and is one of the nicest he produced.

Price is per ounce of fiber. (16 ounces = 1 pound)

Staple length is approximately 2".

For more about Dodger see his bio page on the blog.
We also have shearing videos! See the 2021 video and the 2022 video.
