The Mermaid Tail shawl is an asymmetrical shawl, where the increases are hidden on the edge of the seed stitch, and the horseshoe cable, which also happens to look like tail flukes, is worked up the other side. Between tracking the cable rows and making sure you “knit the purls and purl the knits” for the seed stitch, this intermediate-level shawl does not get boring.
Instructions are provided for the shawl as pictured, using chunky weight yarn. I've also provided suggestions for larger sizes and other weights of yarn.
